What is Outdoor Therapeutic Practice?
Outdoor Therapeutic Practice is the delivery of health and wellbeing strategies using experiential learning approaches in natural outdoor spaces, through travel, connection to nature which includes physical activity such as walking, Pilates movement and activities connected to wellbeing, growth and transformation. These can take place in a variety of green and blue natural spaces.

This course integrates biology, geography, and reflective practice to explore how natural environments influence human health and wellbeing. Using Iona’s unique landscape as a living classroom, learners investigate the connections between ecological systems, place-based learning, and personal renewal. This immersive course explores the relationship between place, movement, and wellbeing, drawing inspiration from Iona’s landscape to encourage reflection, restoration, and holistic learning.
