BESPOKE TAILORED SCIENCE FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDENTS

“I am currently tutoring teenage students studying A level Biology and Foundation Science from Vietnam and China who are studying in Worcester. We are working both face-to-face and on-line. Students experience a tailored bespoke curriculum of OCR A Level Science and Foundation Science, alongside other curriculum subjects, working at a pace which suits and addresses their particular requirements as foreign language students. Students are successfully achieving good grades in their assessments and exams and are applying for future Psychology and Medical Degree Courses at Universities in the UK and in Europe”.

Practical Field Work

A level students studying biodiversity put their theory and practical skills to use outdoors by investigating non random sampling techniques of species richness in an area of the College field. Students put their data and mathematical skills to use by gathering information and analysing their findings of species within a habitat.

DATA ANALYSIS

“I am currently teaching data analysis to groups of foreign language teenage students studying in Worcester both face to face and on-line. Data Analysis skills are essential for all science subjects. These skills will help the students who are studying IGCSE Biology as well as other GCSE’s maths, business and economics. Students confidence has grown as they learn how to apply their mathematical understanding of interpretation of graphs, charts, flow diagrams necessary in order to achieve good results in their relevant academic subjects”. EXPLORING SCIENCEYOUNG LEARNERS

Young Learners Investigating Science

  • BENEFITS
  • Science can help children of all ages develop key life skills such as an ability to organise, investigate, communicate ideas as well as developing thinking and problem solving skills.
  • These are essential skills for early years children, science and problem solving creates opportunities to see things differently.
  • Science enables lateral and critical thinking skills, these transferable skills can be embedded into every day experiences and challenges.

Science lessons are delivered both on-line and in-person (blended learning) for all students from young learners, to KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4. Lessons are tailored for all students and a variety of teaching methods and resources are used which are fun, interactive, challenging and engaging. For younger learners we investigate and carry out fun experiments.

We cover all areas of science to include: earth science, environment, geography, genetics, astronomy, biology, physics, chemistry

Whether you wish to learn more about science for general interest or you are studying towards exams and wish to extend your knowledge further for academic purposes or have missed valuable school lessons and need extra tuition to catch up.

MATHS

Our maths programme helps develop maths skills and an appreciation of numbers from basics to more complex maths, we cover all areas of the curriculum from shapes, bonds, number bonds, complex shapes, functions, fractions, angles, percentages, ratio, to algebra, graphs and probability and other topics. Maths tuition can be tailored to the student’s needs and abilities using a range of different teaching methods. We deliver at KS1/KS2/KS3 – GCSE to include working towards assessments and examinations and work with all awarding bodies, OCR, AQA, EdExcel, IGCSE.

BIOLOGY

All key stages 2/3 GCSE, IGCSE and A level human biology. Revision and exam technique – covering key subject areas: cell biology, organisation, infection and response, bioenergetics, homeostasis and response, inheritance, variation and evolution and ecology and human biology. Studies also include working scientifically, looking at designing investigations, graphs, processing and presenting data, risk, models and communication.

Biology tuition – focus on learning about muscles and bones of the body, this is a fun, interactive lesson where we incorporate art and science, by building muscles from clay to gain a greater understanding of how muscles and joints work.

CHEMISTRY

GCSE revision and exam techniques – Combined science, foundation and higher.  Covering all key stages and SATS to GCSE and IGCSE curriculum for AQA, Edexcel and OCR examinations.  Chemistry includes, atoms, elements and compounds, atomic structure, periodic table, metals and alloys, chemical change and reactions, organic chemistry and analysis.

PHYSICS

Physics programme is delivered from KS3, years 7-12. We cover subjects such as forces, energy, waves, electricity, magnetism and electromagnetism, particles of matter, atomic structure. We tailor lessons suited to the student’s requirements using a variety of teaching methods and resources together with practice questions, examination revision.

Science Workshops

FOUNDATION SCIENCE

Tailored individual lessons for international students wishing to study for International Biology Examinations, courses consist of lesson planning, focused vocabulary, exam and assessment technique and practice.

NEW ON-LINE COURSE – Introduction to Back Pain – This course is Foundation Degree level and aimed at students interested in careers in Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Sports Science or those interested in learning more about back pain and management. The course is over 12 weeks, 2 hours a week, you will learn anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, factors affecting back, strategies for management and exercise programming.

Chemistry –
