EOE (European Outdoor Education) Conference – 14-17th April, Rimini, Italy

I attended the EOE Conference in Rimini, Italy, from 14–17 April, which brought together a diverse group of participants—including teachers, practitioners, and academic researchers—for a rich programme of inspiring presentations, cultural experiences, and collaborative activities. Highlights included a visit to the University of Bologna, engaging science and education workshops led by organisations from the Czech Republic, and meaningful networking opportunities with international delegates. Participants also took part in activities that promoted learning in the local environment—both within Rimini’s urban setting and its surrounding natural landscapes—including a visit to the historical area of Rimini, which offered a unique perspective on the city’s cultural and educational potential.

I had the opportunity to present my poster, which explored the role of walking as a method for connecting with culture and community. It received encouraging interest and sparked insightful discussions with delegates who shared similar interests in experiential and place-based learning. The conference was truly inspiring and opened up conversations around potential future collaborations and projects.
